These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Thali, operated by Amelior Labs. By using Thali, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, do not use the app.

Thali is a calorie and nutrition tracking app designed for the South Asian diaspora. It provides a database of South Asian foods, AI-powered food photo identification, weight and water tracking, fasting mode support, and personalised calorie targets based on standard formulas.

Thali is not a licensed medical provider, dietitian, or nutrition therapy service. Nothing in the app constitutes medical or dietary advice.

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use Thali.

Thali offers a free tier and a Premium subscription with the following plans:

• Monthly: $6.99 USD / month
• Annual: $34.99 USD / year

Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through your device's subscription settings.

Subscription refunds are handled according to App Store / Play Store policies.

The AI food scanning feature uses OpenAI's GPT-4o vision model to identify food from photos. The following applies:

• AI identification is an estimate — it may be incorrect. Always verify the identified food and nutrition values before logging.
• Free users are limited to 3 AI scans per day. Premium users have unlimited scans.
• Photos submitted for scanning are processed by our server and OpenAI's API. They are not stored after processing.
• Do not submit photos of other people, minors, or any content that violates applicable law.

The Thali food database is sourced primarily from India's National Institute of Nutrition (NIN-ICMR) and is intended to provide reasonable reference values. Nutrition content of food can vary based on preparation method, portion size, and ingredient source. Thali's values are estimates, not guaranteed precise measurements.

Amelior Labs is not liable for any health outcomes based on nutrition data displayed in the app.

You agree not to misuse Thali. You may not: reverse engineer the app, use automated scripts to interact with it, attempt to access other users' data, abuse the AI scanning feature, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Your use of Thali is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

All content, design, and code in Thali is owned by Amelior Labs. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Your personal data remains yours.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Amelior Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Thali. Our total liability to you for any claim does not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We do not guarantee that Thali will always be available, error-free, or that your logged data will always be preserved.

You may stop using Thali and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
